The Creatista Plus is for people who want café-style milk without learning to steam. You fill a steel jug, set the temperature and texture, and an automatic steam wand does the work; you pour. The foam is closer to what a barista makes than the one-touch Lattissima machines produce, and the machine heats in about 3 seconds. The catch is that you are part of the process, pouring and wiping the wand, and it costs considerably more than an integrated milk machine.

This review uses Breville's and Nespresso's published specifications. It explains what the settings actually change, who the Creatista Plus suits, and when the Creatista Pro or Gran Lattissima is the better choice.

Creatista Plus and its alternatives at a glance

Creatista Plus

51 oz (1.5 L) · About 3 s · Automatic steam wand, 11 temperatures and 8 textures · Café-style milk at home

Creatista Pro

67 oz (2 L) · About 3 s · Same wand settings, touchscreen, hot water · Heavy daily use and Americanos

Gran Lattissima

44 oz (1.3 L) · About 25 s · One-touch milk container · Push-button batch drinks

All three use Original capsules. The Creatista Plus is built by Breville and ships with a stainless steel milk jug.

Creatista Plus (Breville): what the steam wand does for you

The automatic steam wand is the reason to buy it. You choose one of 11 milk temperatures and 8 texture levels, place the jug and let the wand heat and texture the milk, stopping on its own. Lower textures give flat-white-style microfoam that pours well; higher ones give a thick cappuccino cap. The wand purges itself after use, but you still wipe it.

On the coffee side it is a normal Original machine: ristretto, espresso and lungo from Original capsules, with the wide range of compatible brands that implies. The ThermoJet heating means it is ready in about 3 seconds, which matters more than it sounds when you make two drinks in a row.

In daily use the 51 oz tank and large capsule container suit a household, and the steel jug washes easily. It is a larger machine than the Lattissima models, so measure the space.

WhichCapsule note: If you care about the texture of the milk more than the speed of the routine, the Creatista Plus is the best value way to get it from Nespresso.

Creatista Plus vs Creatista Pro

The Creatista Pro adds a touchscreen, a larger 67 oz tank, a dedicated hot-water spout for Americanos and a dual heating system so it can move between brewing and steaming faster. The milk settings are similar.

That is a lot of money for convenience, and the coffee is the same. Creatista Plus vs Creatista Pro, one of our most-searched comparisons, breaks it down; Creatista Uno vs Creatista Plus covers the simpler sibling where it is sold.

WhichCapsule note: Most households should buy the Plus. The Pro makes sense for heavy daily use, Americano drinkers who want hot water at a button, or anyone who simply prefers the touchscreen.

Creatista Plus vs Gran Lattissima

The Gran Lattissima makes milk drinks at one touch from a milk container. It is easier and faster for several drinks in a row, but the foam is less controllable.

The Creatista Plus asks a little more of you and gives better milk in return. Gran Lattissima vs Creatista Plus compares them in full. If you want large mugs as well, Vertuo Creatista vs Creatista Plus covers the Vertuo version of this machine.

WhichCapsule note: Push-button convenience: Gran Lattissima. Milk quality and a bit of ritual: Creatista Plus.

Sources and buying checks

Specifications and maintenance: Nespresso Creatista Plus assistance and the manual for the exact model sold in your country. This is a specification-based buying guide; we have not measured noise, durability or failure rates. Stated heat-up times are manufacturer figures, not total drink-preparation times. Tank-to-cup estimates exclude cleaning, rinse water and unusable water remaining in the tank. Check the selected seller, warranty region and bundle contents before checkout.

What people actually ask

Is the Creatista Plus worth it?

If you drink milk coffee daily and care about foam texture, yes: it is the closest thing to café milk in the Nespresso range without learning to steam. If you mostly drink black coffee, it is far more machine than you need.

What is the difference between the Creatista Plus and Pro?

The Pro adds a touchscreen, a bigger 67 oz tank, a hot-water spout and a dual heater. The coffee and the milk settings are essentially the same. See Creatista Plus vs Creatista Pro.

Can you make latte art with it?

The wand produces microfoam fine enough for simple hearts and tulips at the lower texture settings. The pour is up to you.

Does the Creatista Plus leak?

Check whether water came from the wand purge, an overfull drip tray or the tank seating. Persistent water under the body is not something to dismiss as condensation; stop using the machine and contact support. Our leak guide covers the checks. There is no published failure-rate data for this model.

How much milk does the jug take?

The steel jug has marked fill lines for one or two drinks; stay within them so the wand can texture the milk properly.

Can it make iced lattes?

The steam wand heats milk, so it does not make cold foam. Brew espresso over ice and add cold milk, or use a frother that whips cold milk.

Is it loud?

Steaming is the loudest part, as with any steam wand. Brewing sounds like other Original machines.

Who should buy which version

  • Daily lattes and flat whites, foam quality matters: the Creatista Plus.
  • Heavy use, Americanos, or you want the touchscreen: the Creatista Pro.
  • Several milk drinks at a button with no pouring: the Gran Lattissima.
  • Milk drinks plus big mugs: the Vertuo Creatista.

The bottom line

The Creatista Plus is the sweet spot of the Creatista range: the same automatic steam wand and settings as the Pro, a fast 3-second heat-up and Original capsules, for meaningfully less money. Buy it if milk texture matters to you; skip it if you want drinks made entirely at a button.
