Privacy Policy

WhichCapsule is an independent guide to coffee capsules and capsule machines, published on whichcapsule.com and its country versions (US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy and Spain). This policy explains how personal information is handled across those sites.

For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page and choose the privacy subject.

Account details, only if you create an account. Email address, username and profile image. If you sign in with Google we receive the basic profile Google shares. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored in hashed form; we cannot read them.

Things you choose to save. Favorites, ratings, reviews, quiz answers and preferences, so we can show them again and personalize recommendations.

Usage data, only if you allow analytics. Pages viewed, quiz and result interactions, comparison use, blog and affiliate clicks, country version, device and browser type, and performance measurements.

Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages and to detect abuse.

We do not collect payment card details. We do not sell products on the site: purchases are completed on the retailer's website.

To provide the service you asked for (accounts, saved items, personalized results), based on our agreement with you.

To measure and improve the site (analytics) and to show advertising, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations, based on our legitimate interests and legal duties.

Service providers. Supabase (authentication, database and storage) and Vercel (hosting, and optional analytics and speed measurement) process data on our behalf.

Analytics. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics receive usage and device information.

Advertising. If you allow advertising, our ad partners, Google AdSense, may receive technical data such as your IP address, browser and the ad shown, and may use cookies to measure impressions and clicks.

Retailers. When you click through to Amazon or another retailer, that company handles your data under its own privacy policy. Affiliate links let the retailer tell us a purchase came from our site, without sharing what you bought in a way that identifies you to us.

We do not sell your account details.

Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in, remember your country and store your consent choice. Optional analytics, advertising and affiliate tracking stay off until you accept them. You can change this at any time with the Cookie settings button on this page. More detail is in the Cookie Policy.

Some of our providers operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the mechanisms our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Analytics data follows the retention settings of the analytics provider. Security and server logs are kept for a limited period. Deleting your account removes your profile, favorites and reviews, although some technical logs may remain for security or legal reasons.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, to object to certain processing and to withdraw consent. You can update your profile and delete your account yourself from your profile page. For anything else, contact us.

If you are in the EU, UK or a similar region you can complain to your data protection authority. California residents can ask what we hold about them and ask us to delete it, and can opt out of advertising and analytics sharing with the Cookie settings control.

WhichCapsule is a general-audience shopping guide and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

When we change this policy in a meaningful way we update the date at the top of the page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy, but we ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
