Choose the Philips 3300 LatteGo if you want an automatic milk drink with a two-part milk assembly that is straightforward to take apart and wash. Choose the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo ECAM29084SB if its My Latte routine suits how you portion milk and you accept the carafe rinse and more detailed disassembly. Both grind beans and brew automatically; neither removes the need for milk cleaning or internal maintenance.

If you prefer to stay with LatteGo and are deciding whether you need more recipes or personal profiles, Philips 3300 vs 5500 compares those features against a normal household’s drink list.

This comparison uses the US Philips 3300 EP3341/50 in Glossy Black and the automatic-milk Magnifica Evo ECAM29084SB in Silver. Philips also sells other 3300 finishes and suffixes, including EP3347/90. They are not the exact offer pictured here. Magnifica Evo is a family too: a manual steam-wand version is a different purchase, not a cheaper way to get the same automatic milk system.

For a household making two cappuccinos before work, the useful comparison is what happens before the first cup and after the second. A recipe count cannot tell you that. The decision below separates drink selection, milk handling and the maintenance that remains after the automatic brew has finished.

Six versus seven is not a count of six versus seven espresso styles. Hot water counts, and My Latte is a milk-portion routine. Neither iced-coffee label means the machine performs a long cold-water steep.

US model comparison reviewed October 20, 2026, from official product pages and manuals: Philips EP3341/50 and De’Longhi ECAM29084SB. Recommendations assess documented workflows; we have not measured taste, milk temperature, noise or brewing speed side by side.

LatteGo: fewer milk parts to deal with

The Philips is the stronger starting point if your main hesitation about a bean machine is cleaning its milk equipment. LatteGo’s milk container and frame separate for washing, without a milk hose to thread through a lid. Philips allows washing the assembly under the tap or in the dishwasher. That is a useful design difference even without attaching a stopwatch claim to it.

For two milk drinks, assemble and attach LatteGo, add the required milk, place the first cup and select the drink. Repeat for the second cup, then remove and clean the milk assembly after use. A familiar cappuccino button helps with brewing, but the milk container still belongs in your cleanup routine rather than remaining attached indefinitely.

The advantage is easiest to appreciate when you make one or two milk coffees and want the milk parts washed immediately. It is less decisive if you only drink espresso: the internal brew group, grounds bin and tray still need attention. Do not choose the 3300 solely for an easy milk container if you will almost never use it.

WhichCapsule note: The card is EP3341/50 in Glossy Black. A listing for EP3347/90 or a European suffix should be treated as a separate variant and checked on its own terms.

LatteCrema and My Latte: understand the portion routine

The automatic-milk Evo adds a different reason to choose a carafe system: My Latte. The US instructions describe filling the carafe with the amount you intend to use, then letting that recipe dispense the milk before the coffee. It still has a minimum detectable milk level; it is not a promise to extract an arbitrarily tiny splash from the container.

After a milk drink, the carafe-clean indicator prompts a rinse. When making drinks consecutively, the manual allows that cleaning step after the final preparation. You place a container under the milk spout and run the cleaning function. Afterward, you still follow the manual’s instructions for remaining milk, refrigeration and thorough cleaning of the carafe components.

That rinse is useful, but it does not wash every part of the lid for you. The detailed cleaning procedure includes the milk intake tube, spout and connector. If you dislike small removable milk components, compare the manual’s diagram with LatteGo before ordering. If you prefer to portion milk around the My Latte recipe, this workflow may be worth the extra parts.

WhichCapsule note: Look for ECAM29084SB and the automatic LatteCrema carafe. A Magnifica Evo listing with a manual steam wand is outside this comparison, even if the family name and front panel look familiar.

A two-person morning: what you still do yourself

For either machine, start with water and beans ready, choose settings for the first drink, position a cup and prepare the milk container as directed. After brewing, move the finished cup and prepare the second drink. Neither should be purchased on the assumption that two coffee spouts mean two complete cappuccinos with milk can be made simultaneously.

Different drink preferences add decisions. One person’s short, stronger coffee and another person’s milk-heavy cup need appropriate quantity and strength settings. Set up those preferences deliberately rather than assuming every saved setting belongs to a named user profile. If several people share the machine, agree on what the normal settings will be and who restores them after a change.

The last drink is the important one for cleaning. With Philips, remove and wash LatteGo. With the Evo, complete the prompted carafe rinse and the milk-storage or thorough-cleaning steps appropriate to the remaining milk. On both, check the drip tray and grounds bin. This step map describes responsibility, not measured completion times or a brewing-speed winner.

WhichCapsule note: For consecutive drinks, read each machine’s milk-cleaning sequence before the first morning. Automatic brewing and automatic milk dispensing are separate from washing the milk container.

Maintenance beyond the milk container

The Philips manual specifies a weekly brew-group rinse and a monthly coffee-oil-remover treatment, with lubrication addressed separately according to use. On the Evo, the removable infuser has its own water-only cleaning instructions: no detergent and no dishwasher. Milk-container dishwasher instructions do not apply to either machine’s brewing unit.

Use the distinction below as a shopping checklist. It deliberately keeps rinse tasks, coffee-oil removal and descaling separate. They address different residues, so completing one does not cancel the others. The exact manual remains the authority for safe removal, products and sequence.

After milk use

Internal coffee path

Philips 3300

Automatic-Milk Magnifica Evo

Automatic-Milk Magnifica Evo

Scale control

Philips 3300
Correct water-hardness setting; filter and descaling instructions
Automatic-Milk Magnifica Evo
Correct water-hardness setting; filter and descaling instructions

A filter changes the water-care schedule under the manufacturer’s stated conditions. It does not clean milk residue, empty grounds or remove coffee oils. Treat any large cups-before-descaling claim as conditional on the prescribed filter replacements and use, rather than as several years without maintenance.

WhichCapsule note: Compare the cleaning tasks you will actually perform. We have not timed these machines or tested their long-term reliability, and the documentation does not establish a taste or durability winner.

Drinks, beans and iced-coffee expectations

Both offer espresso, coffee and automatic milk drinks, with an iced-coffee option in these exact US versions. The difference between 12 and 13 grind positions is not enough to predict better espresso. Beans, the chosen setting and your preferred drink all matter. Avoid judging either machine from a single first cup before following its setup instructions.

For iced coffee, use the recommended recipe and ice preparation for that model. A cup with ice on the product page does not establish cold extraction, and neither machine’s iced-coffee label proves it will reproduce the taste of overnight cold brew. If cold extraction is your main purchase reason, research that process separately.

Counter space: measure access, not only the closed machine

Use the dimensions for the exact model on the official store, then check how you will fill the bean hopper and water tank, remove the brew unit and detach the milk container. Measure the cup and milk-spout area as well. Do not add an invented universal clearance number: cabinet height and the direction you can pull the machine make a difference.

Also reserve somewhere for a rinsed milk container to drain. A machine can fit neatly in a coffee corner while its daily cleaning requires moving several other appliances. Reading the removal diagrams before buying is more useful than comparing body width alone.

Check the exact Amazon model and selected seller

The buying cards link to the exact Amazon US listings for Philips EP3341/50 in Glossy Black and the automatic LatteCrema Evo ECAM29084SB. The selected offers checked on October 20, 2026 used third-party sellers. Check the seller, fulfillment, return terms and warranty for the offer selected at checkout; a brand storefront or Ships from Amazon label does not by itself identify who sells the machine.

Review the final model code, US voltage, selected color, included accessories and return terms at checkout. Stock, promotions and warranties can change. A marketplace brand storefront by itself is not proof that the selected seller is the manufacturer, and a manual-milk Evo is not a substitute for ECAM29084SB.

If you are switching from Nespresso

Both machines replace capsule handling with beans, spent grounds and a removable internal brewing unit. Neither uses Original or Vertuo pods. The tradeoff is more bean choice and automatic grinding, with a different maintenance routine. Read whole-bean vs capsule coffee if you are still choosing the format.

If you are considering a portafilter machine instead, Ninja Luxe Café vs Nespresso explains the more hands-on alternative. Our Original vs Vertuo guide covers the capsule route if fewer preparation steps remain your priority. The site’s Nespresso finder does not rank Philips or De’Longhi bean-to-cup models.

What people actually ask

Which Magnifica Evo has automatic milk?

This guide covers the US ECAM29084SB with an automatic LatteCrema milk carafe. Other Magnifica Evo versions have a manual steam wand. Match the complete model code and visible milk equipment, not just the family name.

Is Philips 3300 iced coffee cold brew?

An iced-coffee recipe is not the same as a long cold-water steep. The EP3341/50 is described as offering iced coffee; do not assume a separate cold-brew extraction process from that name.

Can either machine make two cappuccinos at once?

Do not confuse a two-coffee function with simultaneous milk drinks. Plan these automatic milk preparations as consecutive cups and follow the milk-cleaning sequence after the final preparation.

Does the Evo’s carafe rinse replace washing?

No. The rinse cleans the milk outlet path as instructed, while thorough cleaning requires removing and washing the carafe components. The manual gives separate instructions for remaining milk and refrigeration.

Do water filters remove the need for maintenance?

No. Filters do not wash the milk equipment, empty the grounds bin or clean coffee oils. Set water hardness correctly, replace filters as directed and follow the machine’s descaling and cleaning instructions.

Are EP3341/50 and EP3347/90 the same buying link?

No. They are different Philips 3300 variants. The card and photograph here are for EP3341/50 Glossy Black on Amazon US. Do not assume a different suffix has the same finish, box contents or market specification.

Choose by the milk routine you will maintain

  • Choose Philips 3300 EP3341/50 if washing a simple, hose-free LatteGo assembly is your main priority after cappuccino or latte macchiato.
  • Choose Magnifica Evo ECAM29084SB if My Latte’s milk-portion approach suits your drinks and you will maintain the LatteCrema carafe properly.
  • If you mostly drink black coffee, give more weight to the menu, settings and internal cleaning than to either brand’s milk-system name.
  • If you want to steam milk by hand, research a manual-frother machine separately; it is a different workflow from either automatic-milk model here.

The bottom line

Start with Philips if the fewest milk parts to wash is the deciding benefit. Start with the automatic-milk Evo if My Latte better matches how you use milk and its cleaning sequence fits your household. Neither needs a claimed taste-test victory to be the right purchase: the better fit is the one whose daily and periodic upkeep you will keep doing.

Pods for this machine

Start with the right pods for either system

Original machines take only Original pods and Vertuo machines only Vertuo pods. A variety pack is the cheapest way to find the coffee you will reorder.
