Choose Philips 3300 LatteGo if you prefer taking the milk assembly apart and washing its two main pieces after use. Choose an automatic LatteCrema Magnifica Evo if its MyLatte milk-portion routine fits your drinks and you are comfortable with the carafe rinse and separate component cleaning.

The models in this comparison

Official Philips/Versuni and De’Longhi UK product photographs. Pictured cups and drinks are manufacturer presentation; they do not establish a seller’s included accessories.

For a shared kitchen, I would make the decision around the second cappuccino and the person left at the sink. Who fills the milk container, who changes the drink settings, and who puts the equipment away? Those jobs tell you more than a photograph of two finished coffees.

The UK manufacturer versions considered here are Philips EP3347/90 Black Chrome and De’Longhi ECAM290.61.SB EX:1 Silver Black. The Evo has automatic LatteCrema, rather than a manual steam wand. The US EP3341/50 and ECAM29084SB have separate specifications and are not the UK buying reference.

Daily reset and weekly planning are household checkpoints, not replacement manufacturer intervals. Follow the exact model and revision’s instructions, and act sooner when a prompt or cleaning requirement applies. A milk rinse, coffee-oil treatment and descaling address different tasks.

This comparison considers documented preparation and cleaning tasks. We have not carried out a matched taste, noise, temperature, speed or reliability test.

LatteGo: choose the milk parts you want to wash

The Philips design gives you a simple physical job: separate the milk assembly and wash it. There is no milk hose to thread back into the lid. That can suit someone who wants the milk equipment cleaned and draining beside the sink before leaving for work.

Make room for that job before buying. Imagine detaching a used container, carrying it to the sink, separating the pieces and putting them somewhere clean. A crowded draining board can make an apparently convenient coffee corner awkward. The relevant question is whether you like this sequence enough to repeat it.

LatteGo is automatic milk preparation, but automatic dispensing does not mean automatic washing. Its simpler milk assembly also does not remove the machine’s internal coffee maintenance. If nobody in the household wants to handle the brew group or grounds, the milk container alone will not settle the choice.

WhichCapsule note: The UK reference is EP3347/90 Black Chrome with LatteGo. A 3300 with a different milk attachment or another market’s electrical specification needs its own check.

LatteCrema: separate the rinse from the wash

De’Longhi’s UK ECAM290.61.SB EX:1 combines automatic LatteCrema with MyLatte. MyLatte lets the amount of milk you put in the carafe shape the milk portion. It is useful to consider if you prefer thinking about each drink’s milk quantity before starting it.

The EX:1 manual separates the Clean cycle from disassembly. After successive drinks, run Clean following the final preparation. If the carafe is empty or lacks enough milk for another drink, then disassemble and wash all components. With enough milk left, run Clean and put the carafe straight into the fridge; the manual limits that storage to two days before full cleaning. More than 30 minutes outside the fridge also triggers disassembly and cleaning. Read section 14 for the component-washing method.

Read the diagram for the exact revision before deciding how comfortable you are with its removable pieces. A family name cannot establish the same fittings, cleaning sequence or supplied package. The person doing the final wash should have a say in this purchase, even if another person is more interested in the coffee settings.

WhichCapsule note: Magnifica Evo, Evo Next and manual-frother Evo versions are separate comparisons. Automatic LatteCrema must be present on the selected machine.

Two cappuccinos with the same milk

Picture two people leaving home together. They use the same milk, but one wants a shorter coffee and the other a larger cup. Person one checks water and beans, prepares the milk container and selects the first drink. Person two takes over the second cup and checks the settings rather than assuming the first person’s choices suit both.

Plan consecutive milk drinks. Two coffee outlets do not establish two complete cappuccinos at once. On the Evo, the EX:1 instructions place the Clean cycle after the last successive milk drink. MyLatte uses all the milk placed in the carafe, above its detectable MIN level, so filling for two people and selecting MyLatte once is not a two-cup portion plan. Place each cup and deliberately choose its milk preparation.

Agree on the handover before the second person walks away. On LatteGo, assign the milk assembly wash. On the Evo, assign the prompted clean and the component care that is due. Then check the tray and grounds. That final handover is often the difference between a tidy shared routine and somebody discovering yesterday’s equipment the next morning.

WhichCapsule note: Use the model’s marked filling limits and instructions. A two-person scenario is not evidence that every pair of cup sizes fits one milk fill.

Two cappuccinos with different milks

Now give one person dairy milk and the other a plant-based drink. Write the changeover into the plan: first drink, remaining milk dealt with appropriately, the required cleaning, then the next milk and drink. Simply topping up one milk with another defeats the point of choosing them separately.

The physical handling may decide which design you prefer. Would you rather separate and wash LatteGo before refilling it, or maintain the Evo carafe components and prompted cleaning sequence? A rinse button should not be treated as proof that shared equipment is free from an allergen. If that matters to the household, obtain manufacturer advice about the intended use and consider separate preparation equipment.

Milk amount and drink strength are separate choices. Write down the intended cup, coffee quantity and milk quantity for each person. Change the relevant controls deliberately, then agree which settings to leave for tomorrow. Avoid using a named-user-profile assumption to solve a problem that the selected model’s controls do not solve.

WhichCapsule note: These are planning examples, not recipes or measured frothing comparisons. Results vary with the selected milk and settings.

Give the machine enough working space

Start with the closed body, then draw where the water tank, milk container and maintenance parts will go when removed. Include the route to the sink and somewhere for clean pieces to drain. Keep the socket and cable arrangement consistent with the exact machine’s instructions.

Try the space with your own cups. Can you position the cup and milk outlet without moving another appliance? Can the person cleaning reach the removable coffee unit? A machine that fits under a cupboard may still require moving for filling or maintenance, so body width alone is an incomplete measurement.

Do not let a recipe count choose your machine

The UK Philips page lists espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, iced coffee and hot water. The specified UK Evo lists espresso, coffee, cappuccino, MyLatte and hot water. Hot water and a portion routine do not make the numbers a count of distinct milk-coffee styles.

Build your own short drink list instead: ordinary cappuccino, a smaller coffee with milk, an occasional black coffee and any drink that is essential to the second person. Mark which controls and cleaning actions each needs. An option you never select should carry less weight than a milk component you wash every day.

Moving from capsules to beans

Either route introduces beans, grounds and internal coffee-unit care into the kitchen. If you are still deciding whether you want those jobs, the UK whole-bean versus capsule guide is the better starting point.

For automatic milk with capsules, Gran Lattissima versus Lattissima One addresses a separate decision. The useful comparison is the complete daily routine, including its milk care. WhichCapsule’s Nespresso finder does not rank these two bean-to-cup machines.

Check the UK package before ordering

Match the full model number, automatic milk equipment, electrical version, finish and included accessories. A marketplace family title can cover several versions. Check who sells and dispatches the selected new offer, alongside its return and support arrangements.

Keep new, used and refurbished offers separate. A listing photograph, brand storefront or dispatch label does not by itself establish every detail of the box that a particular seller will supply. Make those checks on the actual offer selected for purchase.

What people actually ask

Which UK Magnifica Evo is this comparison about?

The manufacturer reference is ECAM290.61.SB EX:1 with automatic LatteCrema. An Evo with a manual steam wand or an Evo Next is a different machine; match the full code and milk equipment.

Does the Evo Clean button wash every carafe part?

No. The prompted milk-path clean and the removal and washing of carafe components are separate tasks. Follow the instructions for the exact revision.

Can two people make cappuccinos together?

Plan consecutive preparations. Two coffee outlets do not establish simultaneous preparation of two complete milk drinks. Check the milk limits and sequence in the selected model’s guide.

What changes when we use different milks?

Include the required cleaning and refilling between preparations, rather than mixing the remaining milks. A rinse is not proof of allergen removal; obtain advice about the equipment if that is a requirement.

Does an easy milk container remove weekly maintenance?

No. Milk equipment, the internal coffee unit, waste containers and scale control need separate attention. The weekly planning checkpoint is not permission to postpone milk cleaning that is due sooner.

Are the US model codes suitable for a UK order?

EP3341/50 and ECAM29084SB are the US references used in our separate article. For the UK, confirm the local model, electrical version, milk equipment and actual selected package.

Choose the milk routine everyone will maintain

  • Philips: you prefer removing and washing the simple LatteGo assembly after use.
  • Automatic LatteCrema Evo: you want the MyLatte portion routine and accept the separate rinse and component wash.
  • Two people: agree on cup settings, milk changeovers and the person doing the last-cup reset.
  • Either: include internal coffee maintenance and working space in the decision.

The bottom line

I would choose around the sink-side routine as much as the drink button. LatteGo makes the milk parts the centre of that decision; the automatic Evo asks you to understand the carafe clean and the component wash separately.

Walk through two ordinary cappuccinos and assign every remaining job. The better fit is the machine whose milk handling, settings and maintenance your household is willing to repeat.
